For HOP to run smoothly, it is imperative that all families are involved in running HOP so that the responsibility is shared. Each and every family who registers for classes at HOP is expected to lend a hand by signing up for a volunteer role in order for HOP to run smoothly and to create a thriving homeschool community. For more information on volunteering and to sign up, click here. Lunch HOP orders pizza each week for sale at $1.50/slice. Options are cheese and pepperoni. You can sign up each week on the weekly Facebook post and pay via Zeffy or in-person at HOP. We also offer for our members to sign-up to make soup each week for sale at $5/bowl. There will be one vegan, gluten free and one "anything" soup. Sign up to make soup here. Members can also bring their own lunches. |
A Little Bit More About HOP
HOP is a student-driven, interest-led homeschool community welcoming families from all counties, with most members residing in Pinellas County. It offers a day of enrichment, friendship, and support, fostering meaningful connections among homeschoolers. We embrace all homeschooling styles and are a secular group—open to families of all faith backgrounds while promoting inclusivity, tolerance, and diversity. Classes are offered for ages 2 through adult and are taught by a mix of parents, students, and community educators. Before registering, please review our Policies and Procedures, How to Register for Classes, and Policy on Bullying and Harassment. Our Classes HOP classes are designed to enrich—not replace—your homeschool curriculum. They offer fun, engaging opportunities to explore new subjects while building community with other families. Class styles vary: some are goal-oriented with defined objectives, while others are more creative or open-ended. Parents should review class descriptions carefully, attend the Meet and Greet to ask questions, and assess fit during the first week. If concerns arise, parents are encouraged to promptly communicate with the Planning Team and the teacher. Communication
Once you register your family for classes, you will be invited to join our registered-only Facebook Group for the current semester. This group allows us to communicate important information to registered families, such as teacher absences, last minute teacher requests, or issues with the weather. While it is optional, we highly recommend joining and checking the group before HOP day each week. While we also send emails to communicate with families, if you choose not to join the current semester’s Facebook Group, you may miss important and timely announcements and photos from your children's classes. |
